Pharmaceutical industry
The production department of chemical drugs consists of two parts: the production of raw materials and the production of pharmaceutical preparations. Raw materials are the material foundation of drug production, but they must be processed into suitable drug formulations for consumption in order to become drugs. In China, the pharmaceutical industry also includes the production of traditional Chinese medicine. The pharmaceutical industry is not only a department of the national economy, but also a social welfare undertaking for disease treatment, prevention, health care, and family planning.
